Engineering the Curve: How Mount-It! PRO Helped Create Boston’s Widest Curved LED Video Wall

When the Curve Isn't Standard, the Mount Can't Be Either

At Boston's rapidly evolving Seaport District, developers behind 10 World Trade envisioned something far greater than a traditional lobby display. They wanted a digital landmark—a feature that would transform the building's Great Hall into a destination and create a memorable first impression for every visitor who walked through its doors. The result was a stunning 140-foot curved LED video wall, now recognized as the widest curved LED display in Boston.

Behind the captivating visuals lies a story of engineering precision, custom fabrication, and collaborative problem-solving. Mount-It! PRO played a critical role in bringing this ambitious vision to life by developing a custom mounting architecture capable of supporting a highly complex, non-uniform curved LED structure.

Project Overview

Project: 10 World Trade Great Hall Video Wall
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Completion Date: November 2025

The Great Hall video wall spans an impressive 140 feet, wrapping around the building's architectural curvature to create an immersive digital canvas visible throughout the space. Rather than functioning as a standalone display, the installation serves as an integrated architectural feature that enhances the building's identity and visitor experience.

The Challenge: Engineering a Non-Uniform Curve

Large-scale LED video walls present enough complexity on their own. This project introduced an additional challenge: the wall followed a non-uniform radius that tightened toward the ends. In practical terms, this meant that traditional off-the-shelf mounting solutions were simply not capable of maintaining consistent alignment across the entire 140-foot span.

The project team needed a mounting system that could:

  • Support more than 400 LED modules
  • Maintain precise alignment across a changing curve
  • Preserve a seamless visual appearance
  • Meet strict structural requirements
  • Accommodate an accelerated installation timeline

For Mount-It! PRO, the challenge wasn't about mounting displays—it was about creating an invisible structural framework capable of making hundreds of individual panels perform as one continuous digital surface.

The Technology Behind the Display

The finished installation combines advanced display technology with custom-engineered mounting infrastructure, including:

  • A 140-foot non-uniform curved LED structure
  • More than 400 Planar® Venue™ Pro Series LED panels with 2.9mm pixel pitch
  • Custom Mount-It! PRO mounting architecture
  • Micro-adjustable panel alignment systems
  • BrightSign 8K media playback powering approximately 14K horizontal pixels
  • 60fps full-motion content delivery
  • Single-player architecture designed for long-term reliability

Together, these technologies create a visually seamless display capable of delivering dynamic, ultra-high-resolution content across one of the most architecturally unique LED installations in the region.

The Solution: Custom Mounting Precision

To accommodate the building's geometry, Mount-It! PRO engineered and prototyped a completely custom mounting system tailored specifically to the Great Hall's architectural curve. Every component was designed around the project's unique dimensions and alignment requirements.

The mounting framework featured precision micro-adjustment capabilities at every module position, allowing installers to fine-tune panel alignment throughout the installation process. This level of adjustability proved essential in ensuring that over 400 LED modules would appear as a single, uninterrupted visual canvas.

Each vertical section of the display stacked four LED panels, supported by Mount-It! PRO's custom-engineered framework. As installation progressed, teams were able to make panel-by-panel adjustments until the entire wall behaved as one continuous surface.

Overcoming Schedule Compression

The project's technical complexity was only part of the challenge.

Originally planned as a two-month installation, the timeline was compressed to just two weeks in order to align with the building's grand opening schedule. At the same time, two trailer loads of equipment had to be transported and coordinated through downtown Boston under tight access constraints.

Success required close collaboration between:

  • Mount-It! PRO
  • Planar
  • TSP Smart Spaces
  • Project consultants and designers
  • Installation teams on-site

Mount-It! PRO embedded engineering support directly into the installation effort, providing real-time guidance and problem-solving throughout deployment. Rather than acting as a distant supplier, the team worked side-by-side with integrators to maintain alignment accuracy, address challenges immediately, and keep the project on schedule.

The Result: A New Digital Landmark for Boston

The completed installation delivers more than stunning visuals—it serves as a defining architectural feature for one of Boston's newest landmark developments. The seamless 140-foot display creates a dynamic environment capable of showcasing branded content, environmental visuals, wayfinding information, and immersive digital experiences.

Most importantly, the project demonstrates what becomes possible when display technology and mounting engineering are developed together from the beginning.

The success of the 10 World Trade Great Hall Video Wall wasn't determined solely by the LED panels on the surface. It was made possible by the precision-engineered infrastructure behind them—an infrastructure specifically designed to solve a challenge that standard mounting systems simply couldn't address.
